Local, small-batch producer Kings County Distillery's flagship Bourbon with a Scottish accent. This bottling conforms to all the American Bourbon standards, but sources peated malt that is grown and kilned in Scotland - in fact, they may be among the first in the country to do so. On the nose, aromas of baking spice and oak pick up a hint of sea salt, with characteristic mossy smoke notes woven throughout. The palate is oak-forward but not overwhelming, with nuances of baker's chocolate, warm pretzel, and leather set against smokey peat. A Bourbon through and through, with plenty of Scottish spirit. Sip it neat or on a rock, or play with it in a Penicillin or Rob Roy.
