This 40-proof amaro was made for your dinner table. It embodies a collaboration between Indiana-based Cardinal Spirits and NYC's La Boîte spice shop, aimed at creating a lower alcohol, less bitter amaro that maintained aromatic complexity and intrigue. Of its 15 botanicals, the most direct on the nose and palate include star anise, licorice, orange peel, and green cardamom. It's based on a red wine distillate, lending a softer palate that finishes subtly sweet underneath its spices and herbs. Try swapping it for the Nonino in a Paper Plane, using it in a spritz, or enjoying it alongside your dinner! It's gentle enough to enjoy neat, but also takes well to ice and a splash of soda (they recommend garnishing with a lemon wedge).
