Bësk is a relatively obscure & infamous Swedish wormwood based-liqueur. The most famous version, Malört, is a Chicago rite of passage. Letherbee’s take is also filled with bitter notes of grapefruit, wormwood, & earthy gentian root, but considerably more palatable. Gentle notes of juniper, star anise, & elderflower musk make this a great cocktail ingredient, or drink it chilled as a shot, it the true Chicago tradition.
