Absolutely packed with fruit and extract, Carmin Brillant is a unique expression of Vacqueyras. Composed of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, it undergoes an extended maceration and 18 months of aging, 50% of which is in one-year-old oak. Now in its second generation, the Clos de Caveau winemaking family produces wine entirely organically on one of the highest-elevation sites in Vacqueyras, providing freshness and allowing an edge in terms of slightly prolonged hang time. The resulting nose opens with perfumed red fruit, cassis, scrub herbs, and licorice. Thickly fruited on the palate with raspberry and cherry, its complexity of baking spice and savory herbs is complemented by gently sweeping tannins.
