Domaine Amirault - Les Quarterons, Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil 2016 (750ml)

Located just north of the Loire River across from Chinon, Domaine Xavier & Agnès Amirault makes their home in Bourgueil. The Cabernet Franc produced here is lovely and refreshing, with spiced perfume and fresh acidity. This label from Domaine Amirault is made as an everyday table red - though it carries charm in spades. Vinified in steel, its nose shows ripe raspberry, herbs' roots, and sweet spice. The palate is silky though fresh, with good concentration of fruit and soft, fine tannins. Certified Biodynamic. Delicious and versatile, it makes a welcome accompaniment for mixed charcuterie, white meat ragu, casseroles, or game.
